About Client

GIFT City aspires to cater to India’s large financial services potential by offering global firms a world-class infrastructure and facilities. It aims to attract the top talent in the country by providing the finest quality of life all with integrated townships, IFSC and multi-speciality special economic zone (SEZ). The site is 12 KM from the Ahmedabad International Airport and 8 KM from Gandhinagar.

GIFT PCL supplies power from their own power station to the SEZ city. They were managing billing based on meter readings in Excel and generating bills manually.

For the payment follow-ups, Calculating Delayed payment interest, and collecting bill payments by the accounting department was difficult if a customer forgot to bring their bills at the time of payment. They have different tariffs and charges that keeps changing based on fuel price and other natural resources.

GIFT PCL was looking for a centralised system where meter readings should be done from handheld devices and billing should be generated and the customer will be intimated by mail and SMS while generating their monthly bills.

In accounting, the department cashier has issues while collecting bills in partial payment, full payment, total receivables and delayed payment calculations.​

Solution


 Serpent Consulting Services Pvt. Ltd. Propose Odoo as a centralised billing accounting and bookkeeping solution with an Android app which will help layman enter monthly meter readings auto-generate bills and trigger SMS and Emails to customers.

Accounting, Invoicing and Android App has been developed in the implementation and customised modules that will allow assigning meter, selecting tariff plans, configuring different tariff heads, computing delay payment interest on payments, and managing different stages of a meter (burn meter, buggy meter, stop meter, power cut, resume meter, normal meter).
